Heineken Blind Date
commercial spot
What’s worse than a blind date who makes you wish you were blind? When she
wants to drink the last beer you were saving for a much more magical moment.
David Incorvaia wrote and directed the spot and teamed up with Big Fish Film production, Director of Photography,
Peter J. Krause, and Production Designer,
Claudia Sembach.
HIV Awareness Make it last
commercial spot
When David Incorvaia sat down to write this spot, which he made
directly for the Deutsche AIDS Hilfe, he did so thinking about how for over twenty years, we’ve been
bombarded with some shocking spots warning us about a terrible disease. “But I think over time we
get desensitized, and when a ‘scare spot’ comes on, we just tune out." So, I wondered if we could
recapture the public's attention with a "funny" HIV spot that says, "Yeah, sure. Of course! Go have
sex! Just be cool about it." This film was David's answer. It was produced by the Neue Sentimental
Film, photographed by
Casey Campbell, uniquely scored by
Soundscape, and cast by Ulrike Mueller.
XNIP.com Like it? Xnip it!
commercial spot
How do you explain a totally new and really cool tool that can archive just about anything anywhere in the world to your personal archive? When David got together with the ultra modern guys at XNIP.com to develop this pretty cute spot, he certainly didn't think he'd be spending so much of his time with dinosaurs and even end up staring in a rock band. But working directly clients to develop a first campaign is always a blast for him, and this was no exception.
UNUSUALS To be or not to be unusual?
commercial spot
Shortly before
UNUSUALS launched this year, they asked David if he’d consider digging into his animation background and come up with something special for them - representing each department on a film set. The result was twenty characters David designed in his always satirical style. Thirsty and still not done, David sat down with his buddy,
Warwick, for some beers and they wrote the 21 scripts. Still not done, David Incorvaia directed and voiced all the scripts, which were expertly animated by
Trick Film Lounge!

Yahoo! Personals Monster
commercial spot
It started as a dreaded absinthe-induced spec film, while,
mind you, dodging one of the coldest Christmas weekends in Prague in living memory, and ended
up match-making happy couples worldwide for Yahoo! Personals.
Nayer Paknia wonderfully captured
all the completely, unrehearsed moments on Super 8 (that’s right, real Super 8) as David Incorvaia
tackled the lead role. “It was fucking cold!” David recalls, “I couldn’t feel my fingers at all; I was so
fixed on that, I didn’t even realize when the dog came up and takes a pee on me! Nayer almost
dropped the camera, ‘David, didn’t you see that?!’ And I’m like, 'What? Did I screw up again?’”
MTV Ringtones
commercial spot
If the window-licking
vixens in the car wash didn’t go far enough, the personal scrub-down that the babes deliver
to the spot’s hero might only be outdone by the monster mamma and her screaming little brat, Mandy.
As always,
Cico Nicolaisen captured soaps and suds beautifully behind the camera in this spot that
David directed for MTV.
BOSS ORANGE Day &Nite
commercial spot
Q: What could be bad about spending three wild days
and nights with a group of twenty year old models on a non-stop party for HUGO BOSS?
A: Just that you’re not twenty any more and after three
days and nights of partying they still look like models, while you just like like shit.
Written directly for BOSS by David Incorvaia, who also challenged his liver by directing it. Produced
by Programmreform. DP: Casey Campbell. Still photographer: Dirk Lindner.
107.9 São Paulo The Groove
commercial spot
In the wee hours of the morning, after a hardcore night of experimentation with your body and brain,
it’s good to know you don’t have to peel the toothpaste out of the cracks in the bathroom to find
the groove. It’s waiting there for you in São Paulo, or digitally, at 107.9 FM. The other thing you may
discover from this spot is Milan, with its production value fantastically cooked up as always by
The Box Films. The models are top, and
Alessandro Pavoni’s photography makes an argument;
that Italians do it best.
Diesel How to Enjoy Confinement
commercial spot
Is getting your date to touch your man-rod by “sticking it through the hole in the
popcorn box while at the movies” losing its charm? Perhaps you’ll find inspiration for a different kind of
dating scenario from this spot David dreamed up for Diesel, which was photographed by
Kolja Brandt.
Forgetting is Contagious
commercial spot
Wouldn't you have liked to have been on set.
Casey Campbell was; Behind was the camera, while the only thing dressed was
Claudia Sembach's set.
Stephan Braungardt produced this social spot, with the Neue Sentimental Film, for Etwas Neues Entsteht Marketing, who must of lost their heads coming up with the idea. The crew was completely naked too.
Beauty Timeless
commercial spec
An extremely poetic piece of work, it also displays David’s love of light,
and attention to detail, as a born set designer. Beautifully captured on film by
Cico Nicolaison’s inspiring camera work, this spot takes the viewer through season after season, an end, and rebirth.
But besides all the artsy crap, it was a bitch to complete, and still to this day is the only shoot where
David begrudgingly went into overtime.
SNAP feat. DJ Tommek & NG3 Oops Up!
music video
This track has more big,
double features than a movie-date with Dolly Parton. This clip, which David wrote and directed for
Ministry of Sound gained a huge YouTube following, with glowing ratings. The director would say the
clip's recognition arose because of the lavish sets and the fantastic costume design that
Frank Wilde
created, or the guest star, a freak'n talented drag queen; however, the reason for its popularity
might simply be attributed to the clip’s three Swedish stars, NG3, who just couldn’t be sexier.
Tchibo Housework
commercial spot
2001: A Space Odyssey might not exactly be your first association with Tchibo (the famous coffee
brand with cool weekly product promos) but that’s why you’re not working for the ubercreative team
at Scholz & Friends Hamburg, who conceived of this kick-ass idea.
Peter J. Krause made himself
dizzy shooting this beautifully photographed spot, and Production Designer,
Claudia Sembach,
was certainly dizzy from all the glue, as no computer generated 3-D was used. It was a pleasure
for David to sit through every frame of compositing with Optics and working with BLM Filmproduktion.
MVV Energy Our Pleasure
commercial spot
“It’s always a challenge to get the audience to feel something about characters they
only meet for a few seconds on the boob tube,” David says. Etwas Neues Entsteht Marketing
teamed up with David to make this spot, which was beautifully shot by
Antonio Paladino. For this
carefully crafted character spot,
Jan Tilman Schade elegantly rearranged Debussy for the soundtrack.
It was produced by
Stephan Braungardt and the Neue Sentimental Film.
Till Brönner River Man
music video
When jazz superstar, Till Brönner, asked David Incorvaia to team up
for the first jazz-music video in Germany, Till didn’t know what he was in for: Something of a “Jazzy
wet T-shirt” contest.” Till forgave production designer,
Claudia Sembach, for dumping a few hundred
liters of water on him on that January day. Director of Photography,
Cico Nicolaisen, once again
demonstrated his talent, and Das Werk Berlin seamlessly brought the post-production to life.
Longtime friend,
Ulrich Kreis, who produced the clip for Neue Sentimental Film, recalls David
whispering to him on set at one point, “Remember Uli, don’t call me Fluffy in front of other people.”
Joseph Arthur & the Lonely Astronauts
music video
“Vegas sucked.” David recalls, “I either had to express it, or kill sombody.”
Luckily, while walking through a neon-lit, climate-controlled, super mall tunnel connecting the casinos,
David passed a toy store where he saw a small, toy pig walking in circles. Instantly the two connected.
“That was me. Trapped, and completely out of my, I mean “its” element. So I bought it, and wrote the
idea.” The 3 min. short film went on to become Joseph Arthur's video, and among the top ten most
requested clips in the U.K. that year.
Noaz Deshe poetically preserved the pork on camera.
MESH Never Enough
music video
David saw the lyrics as the poetry for the videos that he’d make. This spot
is no exception and frames the director’s sheer, artistic determination. Everything you see in the spot
was handmade and crafted by David Incorvaia. Whereas the production took two days, pre-production
took weeks, becoming an obsessive hobby for the director/artist.
Kolja Brandt who beautifully shot this
spot, often joked on set, “It’s easy to make it look great when there’s such nice things to light.”
Strump Dump Old Skool Beat
music video
This simple clip is a testament to a big imagination: As with the commercial
campaign,
UNUSUALS, David designed the characters, backgrounds, well - everything you see,
while also directing it. A team of just four people made this Stump Dump for Superstar Records,
and never imagined that it would become one the most watched clips in the year of its release.
InExtremo Horizont
music video
In addition to a director
who loves a good technical challenge, David’s an artist who fancies spanking out paintings at the rate
of 25 per second. David wanted a flat look that was more reminiscent of children’s fairytale slideshow
books than a traditional clip. So, technically, it was a bitch. But the great team at Post Factory Berlin
pulled a lot of all-nighters to get the single shot composed, and it's a creepy piece of moving art.
